This is the second in the series, but I won't bother picking up a sample of the first. Editing was horrendous and the writing... not my cup of tea. So much there that a good editor could have taken completely out of the story and not harmed it at all. They could have also helped the author with some word choices. If I read the word 'shimmer' or shimmering' one more time in the sample, I was going to scream.
Most of the sample was only a gratuitous gore-fest that seemed like the author couldn't make up their mind if they were going for medical text book accuracy, or common vernacular and what it came across as, was a kid's first attempt at horror.
DNP. Do not recommend.
