Two For One...

DragonMan - Face Of The Unknown - Ted Lazaris Proxy - Daniel Moore

Both of these books were sent to me through KBR.  Both of these, the author did not follow directions- neither sent me an inquiry asking if I would read the book, but went ahead with an inquiry AND attaching a copy of the book... perhaps that isn't a big thing, but the rules are the rules.  As a reviewer, I have rules I have to follow, the authors should do the same...

That said, their inability to follow the rules did NOT impact the reviews.  Both blurbs sent in the inquiry were enough to let me put aside the rule they should have followed to give their book a shot...

It didn't go so well, sorry.

DragonMan by Ted Lazaris

I DNF'd this book at 5% in.  The reason?  Other than a very interesting first few pages that set up a promise of a great read, it fell apart quickly.  Too much, too soon, which leads me back to too much... I didn't know what kind of story I was reading.  Was I reading a TEOTWAWKI or a fantasy?  Not saying they couldn't be combined, but this book failed to do so and I couldn't continue.

I think the author has skills... there is a lot of promise, but this book did not deliver for me.

I DNF'd this one at 1%.  This review will not speak of the existence or lack there of, of promise because the formatting was so horrendous that I quit.  I am not going to wade through a story that is double spaced and then more than double spaced EVERY two lines.  Sometimes EVERY line.
